A MAN who tried to steal a woman’s handbag is being hunted by police.
The victim, a 23-year-old local woman, suffered grazed knees, a cut to her leg and a swollen thumb when she held onto her bag as a man on a bike tried to snatch it.
The incident took place on Bishopthorpe Road at about 2.50am on Tuesday, November 27.
The man is described as white, in his 20s, and between 5ft 7ins and 6ft tall.
He was wearing black trousers and a black hoody with the hood pulled up.
