A FOOTBALL-MAD couple have begun married life with a York City-themed wedding and christening.
Jamie Innes, 33, appeared in The Press after proposing to Carly Lewis, 29, during a game at Bootham Crescent.
Now the couple have continued the theme by making the famous York City blue and red the colours of choice for their wedding and the Christening of their eight-week-old son Liam, which took place in a double celebration at Riccall Church on November 10.
Carly said: “Liam wore my old Christening gown which has been in the family for 125 years but Jamie would have had him in a York City strip.
“The York City players recorded a message which was read out on the day too.”
Despite escaping to the Lake District for their honeymoon, Mr Innes still managed to sneak in some football.
Carly said: “I was ill on the Monday so Jamie went down to the bar to watch the football. But I would have joined him if I had been well.”

(Not sure who's idea the half and half scarft from the FA Trophy final was....unless I'm missing something and the fella is a Newport fan?).
