Good to see all turned out well and nobody was injured as a diabetic myself I know all the tests you have to go through to keep your licence.I have never had hypo or hyper no fainting nothing but still have all the dvla tests.hope you can continue and you get back on the road but you and dvla must feel you are ok to still drive.all the best.

If you have hypoglycemic unawareness she would not have realized if she had a low blood sugar. The article doesn't specify low or high.

Dont come on here with your trivia, you clearly are a Cllr and clearly frightened of those in charge! The facts are she is a Cllr who nearly died and now she is back and wants her constituents to know she is still representing them.

It's great to have Lynn back. We do not always agree on everything politically but her integrity and commitment can never be questioned. She's a great character and Westfield residents can be assured that she will have their best interests at heart.

Just shows what a dangerous condition she was in behind the wheel of a car, must be especially hard knowing she could lose her licence.

That's what I find funny about politics, instead of bringing communities together, they drive communities apart.

I feel sorry for genuine sufferers of diabetes, I know someone who is visually impaired as a result of diabetes. Very sad.

Just to put my two penneth in, this is not how it was at all I'm afraid you've had the wool pulled over your eyes. And no i don't work for the council either

She could be free of any diabetic problems for years then one bad turn she may of felt safe to drive and did so there are rules for driving with diabetes.it's just unlucky she was driving at the time.if it happened elsewhere it would not of got any attention.she could lose her licence through medial conditions .but that does not take away your ability to do your job.

Read the article properly - it says she was NOT driving and getting something out of the car !

I have seen were type 1, insulin-dependent diabetics have gone off in hospital when they have had there sugar levels checked by nurses there is some times no warning that the sugar level as gone up or down

everyone has a different point for bad things happening, I was working with a blood sugar of 28 and never knew i was diabetic but a guy had is meter out at a burger van and i asked for a go!

next day at doctors I argued with the practice nurse for 15 minutes before she agreed to test me and i was at 24, immediately sent home with a load of a pills and it took me nearly a week to get down to a normal 6ish

The guy with the meter didnt believe the readings as he says if his gets over 14/15 he is so sick feeling and dizzy etc he cant do much

just goes to show, not everyone reacts same way.

by the way if your entering a **** competition, find a diabetic, metformin will make you a winner...

Spot on. I woke this morning wondering where I was, then I remembered - Russia.

It saddens me to see some of these comments. I nursed Lynn when she was admitted to hospital. She was gravely ill and why anyone would want to suggest otherwise is beyond me. She is probably one of the best Councillors York has had and if that is the cause of these nasty comments then Lord help us.
Leave the politics out and just be glad she survived.
