PEDESTRIANS and cyclists have been warned access alongside York Minster will be restricted for two months from next week.

As part of the York Minster Revealed restoration and conservation project, which is being carried out with City of York Council, the restrictions will be put in place near the South Transept and Minster Gates from Monday until the end of January.

The project is the largest of its kind in the UK and is aimed at transforming the Minster as a tourist attraction while conserving its stonework and stained glass, and it is scheduled for completion in early summer 2016.
