The Mansion House has undergone a Victorian Christmas make-over and promises to take visitors back in time.
The Lord Mayor, Coun Keith Hyman, along with members of the Civic Party, the Mansion House team and volunteers took part in a Victorian Christmas decoration workshop overseen by historian Louise Hampson.
Decorations from the workshop will adorn the public rooms of the property with the aim of evoking the house’s traditional late Victorian Christmas character. It is open to visitors during the St Nicholas Fayre weekend on November 29, from 10am to 4pm.
Councillor Hyman said: “I’m really looking forward to sharing the Mansion House with visitors in the build up to Christmas.”
Adults can visit for £5, (concession £4). York residents with a valid YorkCard pay £2.50.
