TWO York men have appeared in court charged with consumer law offences after their legal services business went into liquidation.
Samuel Tony Dodds, 31, of The Green, Acomb, and Gary Jones, 31, of Curzon Terrace, were partners in Minster Legal Associates LLP of Holgate Villas, Holgate Road, York.
They are charged with engaging in unfair trading following complaints from elderly and other customers over business worth more than £18,000.
The organisation, a limited liability partnership, was formed in 2010 with a registered address in Batley, West Yorkshire, and went into liquidation earlier this year.
York magistrates decided the case was too serious for them to deal with and adjourned it until January 10, when it is expected to be committed to Crown Court.
A third man, Michael John Wild, 48, of Oxford House, Lowther Terrace, York, was not in court.
He faces five charges of unfair trading and is alleged to have acted as salesman. His case was also adjourned.
