THE man behind the decision to move child heart surgery from Leeds General Infirmary has described as “strange” a decision by campaigners opposed to the move to halt their judicial review on the issue.
Sir Neil McKay, who oversaw the NHS’s controversial Safe And Sustainable review, said: “Save Our Surgery Ltd (SOS), the campaign group based at Leeds General Infirmary, has announced that it will apply to the court next week to postpone its own judicial review.
“This is a strange development given that it was Save our Surgery that requested the judicial review of our decision in the first place.”
