THE owners of a city-centre hotel in York have been given permission to improve its entrance after saying it did not look welcoming enough.
The work will be carried out at the front of the Park Inn on North Street, including new sliding doors and handrails. The Rezidor Hotel Group, which operates the Radisson hotel chain and holds the lease, had said the current design looked like a “backstreet entrance”.
However, the company has only partially succeeded in its application to install new illuminated signs and logos on the west side of the hotel. In June, the 200-bedroom riverside hotel was put up for sale for £18 million by Jefferson Hotels, the owners of the eight-storey building.
