Motorists warned of roadworks at Lord Mayor’s Walk

Emergency gas repairs are being done in York on Monday.

Northern Gas Networks will be carrying out essential repairs on Lord Mayor’s Walk and will be working with City of York Council to minimise disruption to traffic and residents.

During the work, Lord Mayor’s Walk will be reduced to one lane with traffic lights in operation.

Site manager Mark Coe, of Northern Gas Networks, said: “We appreciate that this is a busy road and that there may be some disruption to traffic travelling around the city for which we would like to apologise.

"To keep the disruption to a minimum, we will be manually operating traffic lights to help reduce queue times and we will be monitoring any traffic build ups caused by lane closures leading in and out of the city. We’ll continue to do everything possible to minimise any inconvenience while we complete this essential work.”
