PANTOMIME legend Berwick Kaler has enjoyed afternoon tea at Bettys Tea Rooms.

Playwright and pantomime dame Berwick donned his famous Queen Victoria costume to have tea before performances of Robin Hood And His Merry Mam begin next month.

He said of this year’s pantomime: “I can’t wait to start rehearsals next week and am really looking forward to seeing all the team again.

This year Bettys and the Theatre Royal are offering pre-theatre dinners ahead of selected performances on December 13,19 and 20.

The pantomime will run from December 13 to February 2 and promises to have “amazing sets, costumes, magical lighting, music and choreography”.

I don't think a bike thief needs to know when a bike will be unattended; there's plenty of choice in York. Plus, how would you know which bike is his?

He will be the one swearing at all the cars that dare to be on his road!
Also, there won't be many single men off to a kids pantomime on Boxing day riding a bicycle!
