New St Leonard’s Hospice shop opens in Heworth
9:05am Saturday 10th November 2012 in News
Manager Maria Aebi outside the new St Leonard’s Hospice shop in Heworth, which is dedicated to selling furniture
A TENTH St Leonard’s Hospice shop – and the second dedicated to selling furniture – has been opened in York.
It is hoped the new shop, at Number 1, Heworth Village, will build on the success of the hospice’s existing furniture store in York Road, Acomb, which opened in 1998. Like the Acomb shop, the Heworth outlet will sell good-quality furniture which has been donated to the Hospice. Shop manager Maria Aebi is hoping that local people will donate furniture to the shop, which raises funds for the work of the hospice in caring for local people and their families.
Anyone with furniture to donate should phone 01904 409152 to inquire about its suitability and to arrange collection if required.
