YORK’S Big Green Market is enjoying good business after hitting the half-term holiday for the first time.

The market in Parliament Street and St Sampson’s Square features almost 60 traders from all over the country, selling ethically traded products from across the world – ranging from clothing and lamps to jewellery and crafts.

Jane Redfern, one of the organisers of the four-day event, which continues until Sunday, said yesterday there was also an art gallery inside a tiny Sprite caravan and stalls were selling street foods.

“It’s been very busy - York is chocka as its half term this time round,” she said.
