THE comeback of outrageous York punk rocker Stevie Ze Suicide continues to gather pace with the veteran rocker looking set to star in a Bollywood spectacular.
Stevie, the former drummer with punk legends UK Subs, looks set to fly to India early next year, when he will play a British punk gangster in the first full-length film by director Pavan Krushik.
Stevie, who is currently filming the video for his next single in York, said: “Pavan said he had seen pictures of me on Facebook and that he had recently been watching western pop videos.
“He contacted me to say he was doing a Bollywood film and that he wanted to offer me the part of a punk gangster.”
He said: “It’s not really a Laurence Olivier job. I’m just playing a bit of a herbert, and I’ve met plenty of them in my time so I can base it on them.”
The final title of the film has yet to be decided but the two working titles currently in use are The Viper or Zealot.
Meanwhile Stevie has just finished shooting both videos for a his new double A-sided single featuring two famous punk cover versions – Jet Boy by the New York Dolls and his version of Yeah Yeah by Scottish band the Rezillos.
He said: “Music at the moment is too safe. Nobody is doing anything outrageous any more and I love these two tracks.”
The two videos can be viewed on Facebook by logging on and searching for Stevie Ze Suicide.

Nice guy, he spotted in there walking around in my Led Zep tshirt and talked to me about the time he met Jimmy Page and Robert Plant through some connection with UK Subs. He has some good stories about his life.

Same old , same old. Is this an Autumm thing? Some strange Halloween ritual in York? Stevie Ze Suicide relaunching his career...yet again !! What Career? When did he actually last sell a record? When did one of his records last get any air play? Come to think of it, when did anything he gets the press to report actually happen? (Apart from being banned for drinking and driving) Albums? Rooftop protests? Bla bla Bla Bla same old same old,!!
There are many gifted and talented Artists here in York, perhaps spending time informing your readers of their efforts would make better reading than reporting what this offensive individual is dreaming up next?

dodgydavereturns wrote:Yeah, by-the-numbers covers of forty-year-old records isn't exactly pushing the envelope. By "music is too safe", he presumably means "music on the radio is too safe." It's radio music, guy! It's SUPPOSED to be bland! There's all sorts of boundary-pushing stuff out there if you can just be bothered to look. Best of luck to him with the film thing, but.

To those wondering what his achievements are, he's an excellent and extremely talented musician. Whether you like his music or not he can certainly play his instruments! He's had a very interesting life and has some great tales to tell and I for one wish him the best of luck. No need for bitterness and resentment - if you're not interested just skip the article. Simple.

Take away the pink hair and all the bling and you discover a VERY different person. ..and not a very nice one either!

I would of checked with Pavan Krushik before running the Story as its probably all made up.
Stop giving this guy publicity he does not deserve!
