Nominations sought for City of York Council's eXtra factor awards
9:44am Wednesday 31st October 2012 in News
YORK residents have been invited to nominate a person or team they consider to be local authority heroes.
City of York Council eXtra factor awards help highlight and celebrate the hard work and dedication of its employees from architects to archaeologists, care workers to cleaners, librarians to leisure centre workers, wardens to waste operatives.
Residents have until Sunday to nominate individuals or teams who have gone to great lengths to help or to give a good service.
Coun Julie Gunnell said: “The eXtra factor awards aim to officially spotlight the cases where people are really going the extra mile and give individuals and teams, often doing difficult jobs in difficult circumstances, the little bit of extra recognition they deserve.”
The awards ceremony will be held on December 5.
To nominate a person or team, complete a freepost form at council reception points or at libraries or online on the council’s website at york.gov.uk

No wonder we have no money. Talk about a waste of time. This is an internal awards ceremony voted for by people within the council patting themselves on the back
Look at the statistics for votes last year. virtually all votes were in house and then they have a party to celebrate
Its a joke and a waste of their time and our money. Perhaps if there was a budget surplus then they could waste the money but not now.
