Biker injured in collision on A59

A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital after an accident that blocked the A59 near York.
The accident, involving an Audi car and a motorbike, happened near a garden centre at Upper Poppleton at about 5.40pm on Monday evening.
The road was closed but re-opened by about 7.20pm. A Yorkshire Ambulance Service spokesman said the motorcyclist, who suffered minor wrist injuries, was taken to York Hospital.
