A YORK mum’s new arrival means her family has now reached its fifth generation.
Little Noah Sanderson was born on October 15 to Jessica Morton, from Haxby.
It means his line of living relatives now stretches back to great great grandmother Elsie Pinder, who is 88.
After Elsie comes proud great grandmother, Marion Morton, 67, then her daughter Debbie, 42, and Noah’s mum Jessica, who is 21, and her partner Stephen Sanderson.
Our photographer took this picture of the five generations and captured the first time Elsie met her great great grandson.
Jessica, who works as a carer at a nursing home, said: “With it being the first time she had met him. it was a really special moment.
“She was very taken with him. He was only born last week but that means there are five generations of us now.
“We have heard of five generations of the same family in the newspapers before but they were all girls, but we think reaching five is still very special.
“We are all very close – even in distance we are all only five minutes away from each other.”
Jessica said Noah was already gaining confidence and starting to know who his family were.
“He’s had a lot of cuddles,” she said. “My grandmother and my mum are always finding excuses to come round.”
Jessica also said that great great grandmother Elsie was still extremely active and did not rule out the possibility of her seeing a sixth generation born.
“I was thinking about it,” she said. “I don’t think it’s too likely but who knows?
“The way she keeps going it’s a possibility.”
