AFTER battling his own problems with alcohol and depression, resurgent York punk rocker Stevie ZeSuicide will be helping to provide Christmas dinner this winter for the homeless and needy in St Thomas's Church Hall, Lowther Street, York, on December 21.

"I'll be making sure everyone gets a rock'n'roll Christmas dinner from the 'King of Noize'," says Stevie. "It's also a message to let others who may suffer mental health issues or drug and alcohol problems know that all is not hopeless. You can beat it."

Stevie has been playing his part in the Encounter support group at St Thomas's, run by the Reverend Al Rycroft, who says: "At St Thomas's we have seen through our Encounter group how there is always hope. Stevie and many others have become part of our wonderful community of mutual support, and each person brings their own gifts to the group. Stevie's input is a real boost."

ZeSuicide has music engagements on the horizon too. "I've acquired a twin-neck guitar from Gear4music, on Clifton Moor, which I've had customised for a tour along the south coast of England during February, featuring Stevie ZeSuicide and eccentric Leeds keyboard ace Vue X Monroe, otherwise known as Stuart Niven.," says Stevie, who is planning another trip to Japan too in the wake of this year's promotional tour there.

Meanwhile, his book The Stevie Ze Diaries is fast drawing to a conclusion with a publishing date set for the New Year.

"It's a non-stop rock'n'roll ride through my stories of Paul McCartney, Elton John, Diana Ross, Tina Turner, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and Ringo Starr, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballé, AC/DC, Queen, Kiss, Wilson Pickett and Phil Collins," says Stevie. "My days with The UK Subs, The Damned and The Exploited feature too, as do my days of making videos at MGMM and with Sinitta for Simon Cowell."
