YORK was where it all started for Harry Enfield - and now he has returned to see how it has changed from behind the wheel.

The comedian drove around his university city with GQ editor Dylan Jones as they visited landmarks and recalled happy memories.

The trip was part of Vauxhall Astra's Great British Legends series, which profiles the country's best-loved personalities in comedy, sport and entertainment.

Enfield began university in 1979 when he left Sussex to study politics at York.

During his three years in the city he discovered Marxism, found out he was funny, and met the man who gave him his first comedy break at the Edinburgh Fringe.

He went on to become one of the country's best known comedians after teaming up with Paul Whitehouse to star together in The Fast Show between 1994 and 2000.
