THIS elephant is tickled pink with the efforts of pub-goers in York.
The pink elephant charity collection box at the Sun Inn, in Acomb, is so popular that the pub has collected a record £511.90 for the benefit of York Blind And Partially Sighted Society.
Pub customers have been consistent supporters of the local charity, which maintains vital services to local blind and partially sighted people.
Alan Marshall, fundraising manager for the charity said: "I congratulate the Sun Inn, Acomb, and its generous customers for continuing to steadfastly support our charity in providing services and equipment which helps to maintain independent living for many York people.
"It is not so long ago that we were thanking the Sun Inn for collecting a then record £155 in a pink elephant.
"Pub collections are vitally important and we are always happy to have their support.
"The Sun Inn customers continue to amaze me with their generosity."
