A NUISANCE neighbour has been banned from every council residential property in York in a groundbreaking legal move by housing bosses.

Abigail Alexander, aged 40, of no fixed address, has become the first person in York to be served with such an Anti Social Behaviour Injunction (ASBI).

A council spokesman said that the injunction agreed by York County Court bans Ms Alexander from entering any council-owned residential buildings, or causing nuisance to tenants or their neighbours.

He said she had originally been evicted from her own property for anti-social behaviour, but since then had been found staying at an estimated 22 council-owned properties around the city.

"No sooner is the problem moved from one address, than Abigail Alexander turns up at another address," he said.
