POLICE are investigating after a woman was found dead in her North Yorkshire home.
Emergency services were called to a house in West Tanfield, near Ripon, yesterday evening following reports that a woman had been assaulted.
The 29-year-old woman was found dead in her home by North Yorkshire police.
A police spokeswoman said the woman, yet to be named, had been "seriously assaulted" prior to her death.
She added: "At 21.58 police were called to a house at West Tanfield following reports that a 29-yearold woman had been assaulted and suffered serious injuries. The woman was pronounced at the scene."
A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the woman's death.
