BNP’s York MP hopeful 'quits'
|
| Ian Dawson |
A BRITISH National Party member who tried to fight an election in York and in Scotland at the same time has now "quit" after his own party took an injunction out against him.
The BNP has taken legal action against six former officials including a man from York for alleged misuse of party data.
Chairman of the BNP, Nick Griffin, has secured an injunction from Manchester High Court, preventing the group from using party property including a list of all its members.
Among the six who have contested the injunction is Ian Dawson, the party's former Group Support Officer.
He stood in the City of York Council election for Acomb in April last year as one of nine BNP candidates while also hoping to win a seat in Scotland, through the regional party list system. He failed to win in either city.
The former Yorkshire Secretary and former York Organiser announced his "resignation" from the BNP on the internet in December, while challenging the internal management of the party. His decision to stand down, and the latest court action, follows months of internal wrangling within the party.
The other five former party officials involved in the court proceedings are Steve Blake, Sadie Graham, Matt Single, Kenny Smith and Nicholla Smith.
Simon Darby, a BNP spokesman, said: "We, as a party, sought an injunction against the use of party equipment by the six people. The injunction was granted."
He said the equipment concerned included the party membership list as well as mobile phones, digital duplicators and computers. Another hearing is expected to take place in April.
"We were bound under the terms of the Data Protection Act to take this action," he said.
"There are thousands of names on the list. They have been using it since December. It upset a lot of people."
He said the group was contesting the injunction and another hearing is expected to take place in April.
"The technicalities of our injunction were that they can't use anything that we have asked them not to use.
"They can currently publish things, but they can't use our membership list. They can't use the duplicator."
He was unsure how long the process would take.
Mr Dawson, who is in his mid-20s, attended York College before working as a self-employed administration systems manager.
When contacted by The Press, he said: "I don't want to make any comment on it, not for the time being. I don't want to get involved in saying things out of turn."

Surely you are the one using biggotry by tarring all members of the BNP with the same brush. Is it not indicative that all are not the same when a group of senior members of the BNP are so disatisfied with the policies of the party that they are prepared to resign over the issue?
I would have thought the sensible thing to do before you start casting aspersions against those not readily able to defend themselves would have been to wait and see why the resignations were instigated in the first place. Or perhaps your particular brand of politics does not permit such rational behaviour. Very sad in these days of enlightenment.

Im not a racist but do believe some of what the bmp is saying is 100% correct. Some people are just to nieve to notice it.

What really amazes me, is that in a recent by-election the BNP only got 38% of the vote. This means some people are still supporting a corrupt Labour Party that took us into illegal wars causing untold numbers of deaths and still refuses to carry out its election promise of giving the people a referencum on europe.
Now that DOES amaze me.

Britain has a proud history of fighting Nazis and fascism.
The brave Tommies of WWII would show the BNP the tip of their bayonets rather than read one of their leaflets.
No British patriot would EVER support the BNP.

I think we need a policy of managed immigration (points system etc) not the "round em up and send em home" attitude of the BNP. Speaking as someone responsible for interviewing staff for a major York employer, I'm taking Phd qualified immigrants over UK born applicants with no GCSE's at the moment for two reasons...1. A work ethic 2. They turn up on time & every day. Find me a UK born person who wants to work in data entry and I'll show you a liar who won't turn up again after two days. Sad fact of every day York life.
As for letting people in to bomb the country, the last two attempts to bomb the country were by people born here, in Yorkshire FFS. Two were second & third generation. The bombers before that were Irish white people. The US has been attacked by British born people (Richard Reid). Are you saying that only white immigration is allowed? Or are you saying that British Muslims need to be sent home? Not sure exactly which racist vibe you are on there? Oh and personal experience has taught me, no stamp, no treatment after i moved to Europe then tried to come back for NHS treatment...I got a bill despite paying tax for years!! More BNP lies.
I'm maybe missing the point...or more likely, the BNP is twisting & spinning the truth to suit their racist agenda.

Ha, from a party that builds an entire manifesto on attacking the vulnerable."
The vulnerable in the UK are the aged and the infirm, the homeless and the jobless. They are the ones that, as far as I can make out, are being defended by the BNP. And why? Because the services to which they are rightly entitled are being wasted on immigrants, illegals and asylum seekers, in an effort to secure their votes by a Government that no longer gives a **** about it's own for fear of being called 'racist'. Are you perhaps suggesting that it is the members of the so called' secret invasion' from eastern Europe and Asia who are the vulnerable ones?
And in response to the the other silly childlike comment regarding 'tommies'. I was one for six years defnding what my forebears fought for. A Britain that the BNP is asking for the return of. When you are old enough to have aquired some wisdom then you have my permission to return to the the discussion in hand.

Salvation: Legal immigrants who work in the UK and pay taxes have just as much right to services as people born in the UK. Asylum seekers are here because they are fleeing horrific lives in their home countries, often escaping torture and death. The UK is in a poistion to offer shelter. What if the vulnerable people of this country needed to flee similar situations. Should tehy be refused entry to a country that could help?

Unfortunately it seems that their generation only won the battle of 39-45 as the war on fascism still continues. As to the age of contributors your argument proves that age and wisdom do not always go hand in hand.

Why should we help other countries before our own people?
So we should leave people to be tortured, women and children to be raped and people to be murdered? Is that what you're saying? Let's ignore whats going on in the world. Let's do F. all to help them when we know we can. Let's just be concerned with people in our own country, forgetting we are actually members of the human race. Those who happened to be born into different countries where terrible acts are committed should be ignored. It does not concern us. Nice point of view you've got going on there.
Why not we ignore all the rape and murder in our own counrty. Our country was once known for law and order. It is now a haven for crime. Also i suggest you have a look at the majority of names that the rapes and murders include. As i see it the troubles of other counrtries are now boiling over into ours. Guess is pretty soon something will kick off.

bobbydazzler: I refer you to my Daily Mail comment if these are really your own opinions. Been in a mosque? Spoken to British Muslims on their opinion of "hook hand"? He was about as welcome as a sausage roll in a normal UK mosque and he's now dodging bullets in Syria. Problem solved, yet BNP propaganda still mentions this over and over again.
Does anyone actually understand the term fundamentalism? If they do, the USA is currently run by Christian Fundamentalists who are hell bent on promoting their own Middle East agenda resulting in their occupation of the oil fields. Imagine if Islamic Fundamentalists did the same here for the North Sea Oil. I bet one or two of you would be considering hitting the Iranians/Saudi etc with a few home made bombs or getting on their bus/tube with a couple of nail bombs? Judging by the opinions on here, if that was the case, the flight to Riyadh is already half full with British Patriots prepared to defend their liberty. Now you understand how the Middle East feels. Start protests against the proper criminals who are corrupting the minds of our young. Our so called Allies tell us that it's OK to attack people you don't agree with so long as they have oil/stuff to steal. If this wasn't the case and we hit Iraq for humanitarian reasons, then why is Mugabe still in power?
The BNP lies and Labour lies, the difference? BNP lies end with forced labour camps and cultural division. Labour lies put 10p on your petrol price and make you wait five more weeks for an operation. I know where my vote goes.
Rant over :D

Bobby Dazzler: You seem to misunderstand that these attrocities are being carried out by those in power. This is what asylum seekers are fleeing. A country where government/police/ armed forces are corrupt. Yes, terrible things happen in England too but here we can turn to the police and justice system with more faith than some in other countries can.
People here are not killed by those in power for being gay, or beaten and raped for sitting in a car with a man.

Salvation, whatever happened to Moseley's Blackshirts? - confined to the dustbin of history - rejected by common sense and sent packing.
The BNP 'brownpants' have nothing whatsoever in common with the brave British Tommies that fought against fascism in WWII.

Do you think that if people in this country were being beaten, tortured and murdered those countries would be quick and as happy to help us? I think not.
European Law states that people fleeing there own countries in fear of there own well being should seek refuge in the first safe European Country they come into! Do France, Germany, Italy etc not come into this? They only come to England because they know they will get a free and easy ride at the cost of the English tax-payer.
And now they want to force there religious views down the throats of our children in Christian based schools! Dont think they would be too keen if we sent Preists into there local Muslim school and started preaching about how Jesus will love you if you love him.
A LibLabCon goverment has dragged this country down from what once used to be a powerfull proud nation, to a politically correct, soon-to-be Muslim state.
R.I.P Britain.

The majority of immigrants into this country come to work, not to leach off the state. Our laws state they're not allowed to work, something the vast majority of immigrants are not aware of before they come to Britain. So they end up living off the state, when they want to be and should be contributing- so that our home grown doleys can sit at home and watch Trisha

Not suggesting either of that, what i am suggesting is if that they are forcing our children to learn the way of Islam in all schools then this proud Christian country will be turned into a largely Muslim one. When was the last time you heard of a church or a Cathedral (sp) being built? Mosques are going up all the time, they even want to remove Christmas as a national bank holiday! I suppose in your 'everyone is equal' world you would not oppose to that.

I don't think that I ever said all, or even the majority of immigration is because of fleeing from persecution. Sure, a lot of it is economic migration, but that shouldn't be a problem- if dealt with efficiently, it has the capacity to benefit rather than harm this Great country

It is not being dealt with efficently though is it? Thus being a major problem! Sorry when was the last time you heard a shooting carried out by a white (whether English or not)? If you lived in Birmingham, Manchester,Bristol or London you would hear weekly of shootings carried out by black or asian gangs, reason why its not on national news? Because its so common now days in these areas. And its only going to get worse under this Government.
Use your Vote wisely, vote BNP and stick up for the rights your ancestors thought the Nazis for only 65 years ago!

Instead of scaremongering tactics perhaps we should stick to the facts. 3% of the UK population are Muslims 20 years ago 2.5% of the UK population were muslims.Stop believing BNP lies. This country does not need holocost denying racist fascists like the BNP that is why they have only 46 councillors out of a possible 22,300 The people of this great country have spoken NO BNP

It even reached the news and have rappers roll deep on tv saying it had to stop.

bobby, statistically, Asians are the least likely group to be involved in crime.
- lets have more Asians then, according to your logic surely ?

Then tony though he would name some white serial killers which only one had a gun and he wasn't even from england?

My point about was about murderers regardless of skin colour. Its amazing whenever the BNP are mentioned idiots start to consider themselves on crimewatch and spout untrue figures about ethnic crimes. Murder is murder regardless of skin colour.A black football player captained the English football team last night. that must have sickened the BNP racists

Regardless of whether or not the police have arrested Rhys's killer, they are looking for a white teenager- which, considering everybody in the area knows who it is (it's just a question of needing more evidence) seems pretty clear cut.
You've made it clear above that you're not a racist bobby, so do yourself a favour and don't jump to the defence of someone who clearly is

will you please stop telling lies. Muslims do not want to ban Christmas That is another ludicrous lie Just like the Baa Baa black sheep nursery rhyme been politically incorrect myth . It never happened. why do resort to lies about 3% of the UK population to justify your hatred of skin colour. York has some great Indian restaurants Try them out. BTW did you know that the largest immigrant group in the UK is the Irish?? any objections there??

Just because they were born here doesn't make them British.
If a man were born in a stable it doesn't make him a horse!

Not claiming there a different species, just used it as a metaphor.
And there is a difference between 2/3 generations of a family to god knows how many generations of my family and yours that have lived in this country.
