York tourism award shortlist revealed
DOZENS of York attractions, hotels, guest houses and shops have been shortlisted for the city's tourism Oscars.
The Tourism Bureau and the Hospitality Association are joining forces to present the York Tourism Awards for Excellence.From hundreds of entries, 52 contenders remain to vie for 14 prestigious awards, intended to celebrate individual and collective excellence in tourism.More than 200 guests will attend the ceremony at York Racecourse on April 16, compered by BBC Look North presenter Harry Gration.
Tourism bureau chief executive Gillian Cruddas said the awards recognised businesses offering excellent customer service. "They are the crème de la crème of our industry," she said.
