YORK City suffered their first Blue Square Premier defeat under Colin Walker as they went down 3-1 at Histon.
The Minstermen slipped to 11th place in the table after the Glass World Stadium reverse, 11 points away from the play-off zone.
Jack Midson put Histon ahead in the fourth minute and Nathaniel Knight-Percival made it 2-0 after 16 minutes.
City's Nicky Wroe pulled a goal back from the penalty spot and then had a quickly-taken free-kick strike ruled out by the referee.
Midson's second goal in the 50th minute sealed York's fate and earned Histon a memorable double, following their 4-1 win at KitKat Crescent earlier in the campaign.
