HELMSLEY Walled Garden, pictured, will be opening its doors on Sunday, September 7, in aid of two charities, Perennial and the National Gardens Scheme (NGS).
Perennial works to support horticulturalists in need and the NGS raises money for nursing and caring charities through garden open days throughout the UK. All admission takings will go to benefit these charities.
The walled garden has also taken up Perennial’s invite to “Go Green for HortAid”, which takes place from September 1 to 14 to raise funds for the 175th anniversary appeal.
Mike I’Anson, garden manager, said: “As a charity working with disadvantaged people ourselves, we wanted to take a day to support two charities working with and caring for people in need.
“We felt that both Perennial and NGS fitted with our aims, we are proud to support them.”
Helmsley Walled Garden will open from 10am to 5pm. Entry is £6 and The Vinehouse Café will be open for lunches and light refreshments.
