BBC Radio’s gardening guru Joe Maiden gave a talk at the Talbot Hotel in Malton.
Guests travelled from across Yorkshire to enjoy the event with Joe, a well known gardener, horticulturist, radio presenter and author.
A spokesperson for the hotel said one couple had travelled from further away specially for it and stayed overnight.
"It was a sell out andJoe stayed late chatting to guests, signing books and selling plants, and giving individual tips," she added.
"Joe told some great stories, jokes and also some of his life's sadnesses and joys all of which were interspersed with tips and gardening knowledge. A real raconteur and character."
