ORGANISERS of a new beer festival in Yorkshire say they want it to become one of the best in the UK.

The Bridlington Real Ale Festival wil be held at The Spa on March 7 and 8, and the organisers hope to pull in thousands of enthusiasts. There will be beer, cider, food and music extravaganza from around Yorkshire.

Festival organiser James Harper said: “The venue is perfect for a beer festival and we want this one to be one of the best in the UK. Because of the capacity of The Spa the festival has the opportunity to grow and become a major tourist attraction for Bridlington."

Andrew Aldis, general manager at The Spa, said: "We're always looking for new festivals to bring to Bridlington and we think this one hits the nail on the head. It will be a chance to learn about and sample the best beers and ales this region and country has to offer."

Breweries represented at the festival will include Great Newsome, Wold Top, Brass Castle and Scarborough.

Tickets are priced from £5. To book, phone 01262 678258 or visit www.thespabridlington.com/realalefestival
