A YORK pub that closed earlier this summer is to reopen this afternoon.
The Minster Inn in Marygate closed in July, when the then licensees were unable to reach a financial agreement to keep the pub sustainable.
New operators were found, and the pub has undergone a major refurbishment. It is now branded as an ale house and kitchen, with a new focus on food.
New licensee Anthony Pratt told The Press previously that the pub needed to change to survive but said it would be "evolution not revolution".
He said then: “I’m pleased to have a pub in York city centre. I really like the area we are in.
“I want it to be warm and welcoming, offering quality products, including quality craft ales and premium craft spirits and an exciting wine offering.
“For us it is about providing great hospitality and a great welcoming.”
The pub is due to re-open at 5pm.
