There are 61 ales to choose from, including many from some of Yorkshire's best-loved breweries Rooster's have brewed the festival special called Tiger Feet, in honour of the Poppleton Tigers, at whose ground the festival is being held.

It's described as a well-hopped pale ale, with a citric aroma and hops from New Zealand and the United States. The Knaresborough-based brewery also has Fort Smith, Baby-Faced Assassin, Blind Jack and its coffee porter Londinium.

Several of the region's most exciting young breweries are also represented. Look out for Dark Masquerade by Half Moon from Ellerton; Cascade by Bad Seed from Malton; and Comfortably Numb by Bad Co from Dishforth; for a varied and hard-to-beat selection.

North Riding from Scarborough will have Citra, and Oakham from Peterborough will have their popular beer of the same name, for anyone who wants to pit the two against each other, while those after a fruit beer can try Rhu-bar-beer by Yorkshire Heart or Blackberry Cascade by Saltaire.

Magic Rock have Ringmaster and Dark Arts on the bar, Abbeydale Absolution from Sheffield is well worth seeking out; and local favourites Brass Castle will have their Sunshine, Hazelnut Mild and Burnout available. Popular options from further afield include Thornbridge Jaipur and Dark Star Hophead.

In addition to the beers, there are ciders, perries and wines and a "Pimms and Prosecco" tent. There is also live music, and curry available from 8pm on wards.

The festival is at Poppleton Junior Football Club in Millfield Lane, Nether Poppleton. Admission is £6, which includes two beer tokens, a programme and a souvenir glass. Proceeds go to the football club.
