AN AUTHOR and medieval expert will be at Holme on Spalding Moor village hall on Wednesday, May 6, in the latest in a series of talks from women writers, organised by East Riding Libraries.

Juliet Barker’s latest work, England Arise: The People, the King and the Great Revolt of 1381 sheds new light on the 14th-century Peasants’ Revolt.

Tracey Booth, from East Riding Libraries, said: “We are delighted to be playing host to Juliet Barker as part of our ‘Between the Lines’ events this spring, which are bringing authors to audiences across the East Riding. We have recently held two really successful events with Hazel Gaynor and Stephanie Butland. We hope this will continue, as people take the opportunity to come and meet Juliet and listen to the thoughts of an expert in their field.”

The event runs from 7pm to 8.30pm. Tickets cost £2 each and are available from bevlit.org or 01482 392699.
