WHEN I first looked at this latest book from the Maltonborn celebrity chef, I thought that the recipes were either too fancy or going to take too long, but I was wrong on both counts.

If we are well organised in the kitchen, cooking need not take a long time and in this book James takes us through the recipes in a clear, precise manner that gives us the confidence to try them.

In his introduction James tells us what inspired the recipes, which he informs us, take 20 minutes or less.

There are fast starters, main meals and puddings, of which salmon with sorrel cream sauce, green Thai chicken curry, apple and marzipan tart and banoffee sundae are just four of more than 100 mouth-watering recipes accompanied by beautiful photographs that tempt us further.

In this nicely-produced book, though it might have been easier to use with spiral binding, there are also many useful cooking tips making this an essential book to have in the kitchen, while the delicious time-saving meals will make you thankful you bought it. Happy cooking.
