Description:
Situated in 70 acres of parkland, 6 miles south of York, Queen Margaret's is an independent girls' day and boarding school for 11-18 year-olds. Excellent teaching, superb facilities and varied opportunities for learning are the hallmarks of a QM education. Around 90% of girls are boarders and QM also welcomes day girls from York and the surrounding villages. Academic excellence is evident in QM’s 2010 examination results with 93% of entries at A Level achieving A*, A or B and 92% of all entries at GCSE gaining grade A*-B. Girls at QM take advantage of the rich and complementary programme of studies and activities available to them. Sport is an integral part of the curriculum for all girls and there are excellent facilities for drama, art and music, whilst clubs and societies offer opportunities to pursue a wide range of interests. Well-qualified staff help provide the caring and friendly atmosphere which develops breadth as well as depth of education. At the end of their time in school QM pupils are confident and articulate young women, who have made lifelong friendships and are ready to take their learning to the next level and their place in the modern world. To request a prospectus or arrange a visit, please contact the Admissions Officer, Mrs Jackie Hallewell on 01904 720072.
