- Description:
- The Mount School produces a very special kind of girl: mature, quietly confident girls who are comfortable to be themselves, to think independently and be socially considerate. "One of the key values I took away from the Mount School is the sense of community and giving back." - A past student.
- Activities:
- The Mount is a thriving boarding and day community with a five day teaching week. Girls are involved in matches and rehearsals on weekends, and boarders also enjoy a bustling programme of weekend activities. Flexible boarding arrangements vary from the occasional night to regular nights each week, weekly or full boarding, allowing us to cater for all family situations. With acres of pitches, tennis courts, our own 25-metre indoor pool, multi-purpose sports hall, gymnasium and outdoor Forest School, the school enjoys a wide range of sporting activities and outdoor pursuits.
- Facilities:
- Set in sixteen acres of magnificent grounds located 10 minutes walk from York's historic city centre, The Mount School has exceptional purpose-built facilities for Science, Art and Design, Music, Drama and Sport. Our outstanding academic results ensure the school consistently performs exceptionally well in all league tables. Our caring Quaker ethos enables boarding and day girls to achieve their full potential in school life and afterwards.
- Forthcoming Events:
- Our next Open Morning is Saturday 11 May 2013. Our Open Mornings are intended to show you a broad view of the School's academic scope, a flavour of our extra-curricular activities, a tour of our grounds and facilities. It is also an opportunity to speak with our members of staff and - most of all - to our girls who, we are proud to say, are our best endorsement for an education at The Mount.
