York Musical Theatre Company present That’s Entertainment, York Theatre Royal, May 16 to 18

AFTER receiving a standing ovation for their centenary concert performance of Titanic The Musical at a packed York Theatre Royal on April 14, York Musical Theatre Company’s members are deep into preparations for their May production of That’s Entertainment.

Principal and chorus members will be joined on the Theatre Royal stage by a 12-piece orchestra for a “huge celebration” of such West End musicals as Wicked, The Phantom Of The Opera, Chicago, Les Miserables, Cabaret and Miss Saigon.

Paul Laidlaw, the company’s director and musical director, will be directing the production, having put together the musical journey through the West End’s biggest hits.

That’s Entertainment not only marks York Musical Theatre Company’s 110th anniversary, it is also one of the events being held for the York 800 celebrations.

Performances start at 7.30pm on May 16 and 17; 4.30pm and 8pm on May 18; and 2.30pm and 7.30pm on May 19. Box office: 01904 623568 or yorktheatreroyal.co.uk
