Members of the Once Seen Theatre Company, York Theatre Royal’s resident company for adults with learning difficulties, rehearse for their latest production, Number 4 Haver Lane.
From left are Peter Ridsdale, Heather Martin, Martin Hodgson, Becca Cooper, Phil Scott, Shaun Lavery, Laura Humphrey and Kate Hardcastle.
The new piece, which deals with the subject of life in the Hungate area of York in 1901, has been written by Sian Williams, the company’s artistic director.
It has been inspired by research done by a local history group for people with learning difficulties and will be performed in the Theatre Royal’s Studio during March.
The Once Seen group has support from York-based organisations such as York People First, the Theatre Royal, York Archaeological Trust, the Yorkshire Film Archive and local musician Dean St John.
