BUBBLE & Squeeze, the new cabaret show for grown-ups from "bubbleologist" Louis Pearl, will be bubbling up in The Tea Pot at the Great Yorkshire Fringe in York on July 27 en route to next month's Edinburgh Fringe.

Louis, alias The Amazing Bubble Man, from Berkley, California, is heading to The Stand's New Town Theatre, George Street, Edinburgh, from August 15 to 26 on his 12th visit to Scotland, to premiere Bubble & Squeeze Cabaret, a late-night adult addition to his family show that will run at the Underbelly throughout the festival.

Most people think bubbles are for little children, but not anymore, says Louis, whose new gravity-defying, awe-inspiring bubble tricks will be accompanied by long-time musical collaborator, musician and singer Jet Black Pearl. "Bubble & Squeeze is the bubble show for grown-ups that the world has been waiting for," he suggests. "After all, you’re never too old for bubbles!"

Louis has spent the past 30 years exploring the art, magic, science and fun of bubbles as this American toy maker-turned-showman brings to life the breathtaking dynamics of bubbles, combining comedy and artistry with audience participation and Jet Black’s music.

Jet Black has appeared on more than a thousand stages all over the world, creating grooves and mesmerising layers of flute, plastic bottles, vocal percussion and harmonies, all while squeezing one hot accordion.

He and Louis will be performing separately and together in this all-new show, where alternative soap star Louis invites you to marvel at his "sizzling, sexy, beautiful, bubbly, mind-blowing bubble/fog/helium creations, while treating your ears to the tasty, top tunes played on the electronically enhanced accordion of the fabulous, formidable, international cabaret star Jet Black Pearl".

Bubble & Squeeze will be a late-night risqué cabaret of bubble magic, mad effervescent music and multi-media display that "takes bubble art to a higher level". Expect square bubbles and rocket bubbles, fog-filled bubbles and psychedelic bubbles as Louis enjoys the freedom of performing for a more mature audience.

"It’s a dream come true to be bringing an adult version of my show to the Fringe this year. There’s no script, no constraints, and no two shows are the same as it’s an improvised show and the audience participation involved means it can go in any direction," he says.

"People think ‘adults only’ means X-rated, but that’s not necessarily true. Bubbles can be metaphors for anything, and often you find that adults appreciate the art and the science of the bubbles more than the kids. I see it at the family shows; kids love the bubbles but the adults have never seen anything like it and are genuinely transfixed! So now they get their own show."
