TICKETS are free for Displace Yourself Theatre's Food For Thought shows in the York Theatre Royal Studio tonight and tomorrow at 7.45pm.

Jennifer Nevin and Mike Auger's company have made the piece as part of the European project Be SpectACTive!. "Step with us into the glorious world of food as we examine the influence of the fast food industry, ask how food can help or hurt our health and look at the true cost to the planet," they say. "Can our food culture and history teach us anything about the future? If food has the power to unite families, why are more of us eating alone?"

Working in Britain, Italy and Hungary, where they have interacted with farmers, academics and experts as they bite into one of the most important issues of our time, Nevin and Auger invite you to "indulge in the distinctive form of Displace Yourself, filled with delicious projection, delectable performers and flavoured with a fiery movement score".

A post-show discussion will take place after both performances to provide feedback to aid Displace Theatre in developing the show. Free tickets can be booked on 01904 623568, at yorktheatreroyal.co.uk or in person from the Theatre Royal box office.
