YORK dance teacher Evelyn Witcombe presents her students in Viva La Dance 2 at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre, York, tonight and tomorrow.

Produced, directed and choreographed by Evelyn, the dance showcase for 34 of her students features tap, jazz, ballet, acrobatics and jive in no fewer than 32 routines. Former pupil Hannah Poulton has choreographed the first half's Jazz Dance, while Charlotte Hardy has put together the ensemble finale, Thank You For The Music.

The dancers, who train at St Andrew's Hall, Huntington, are divided into five groups, the Lady Tappers, alias "The Gals"; The Trendsetters; the Sunbeams; Rainbow and the Fab Four of Charlotte Hardy, Claire Blaze, Kelly Kirby and Amelia Hardcastle, who will dance Hannah's Jazz Dance, Colours Of The Wind, Skeletons Alive, the Pin Stripe Tap, a Jive number, Nut Bush City and Another Irish Touch.

Further items will be the Sunbeams' Better When I'm Dancing, Football Crazy and Robin Hood; the Trendsetters' Hill Billy Rock, Singin' In The Rain, Skinny Love and The Can-Can; the Rainbow group's The Hunt, Happy Days and Jazzing About and The Gals' Dear Future Husband, Reet Petite and Top Hat, White Tie & Tails.

The Drunken Sailor will be danced by Emily King, Abigail Foster, Aimee Thompson, Natalie Merrick and Sophie Chivers as The Crew and Grace Birch as the Drunken Sailor.
