COQUETTE Burlesque and Cabaret Club invites you to "Do-Rite and come to the cabaret" on February 3 at The Crescent Community Venue, off Blossom Street, York.

"We'll be bringing one of Yorkshire’s finest jazz and blues trios to the city for the first time," says Coquette co-director Daisy De Lux, introducing the night's star turn, The Do-Rite Trio, whose fresh twist on vintage songs makes them "effortlessly cool, cheerily infectious and conspicuously adept", according BBC 6 Music presenter Mark Radcliffe.

"Fronted by regular Coquette compere and show-woman extraordinaire Em Brulee, next month's show is a rare opportunity to hear one of the most charismatic performers in the business accompanied by a live band," says Daisy.

Coquette enjoyed a successful launch night at its new home of The Crescent last November and the community venue will now be its regular home.

"In true cabaret style, expect a show packed with variety and irreverent fun," says Daisy. "Up-and-coming performer Seedy Frills will be adding some cheeky cheesecake burlesque to the mix, while award-winning 'boylesque' star Rock Hart will prove that burlesque is not just for girls."

After a rapturous response at Coquette's Moulin Ouse shows during the 2016 Great Yorkshire Fringe, multi-talented entertainer Trevor Organ will return to the Coquette stage with his "hula-hooping antics, crazy anecdotes and preposterous ping pong balls".

"We’re always trying to bring new experiences and varied performances to our audiences in York," says Daisy. "It’s exciting to be kicking off 2017 in style with one of our favourite bands and some fantastic burlesque and circus artists."

Daisy and fellow director Pandora Amour both draw on more than 15 years of management and performance experience in the arts and entertainment industries, and their company Coquette Events specialises in burlesque, cabaret, variety and vintage entertainment.

"Established in 2008, we're completely independent and are York’s only regular producers of burlesque and cabaret entertainment in the city," says Daisy. "We also provide professional and imaginative event management for private and corporate clients and festivals, such as the University of York, Pickering 1940s Weekend, DV8 Festival and the Festival of Vintage."

Tickets for February 3's 7.30pm show cost £12 from The Crescent or Classix in Goodramgate, York, or online at ticketsource.co.uk/coquette-events
