REAL People Theatre, the York women’s theatre company, will hold auditions for Animals And Us on Saturday morning from 10am to 12 noon at the Tesco Community Room, Tadcaster Road, York.
For the 18th consecutive year, Sue Lister's company will contribute a thought-provoking and inspiring show to York International Women’s Festival in March 2017.
"The theme in Animals And Us is the relationship between animals and ourselves," says Sue. "Exploration and discovery will come through stories, poetry, song, dance and anything else that can portray in dramatic form our relationships with the creatures of the Earth.
"Women may have stories to tell about pets; about animals who have helped you; about animals who have served humanity throughout history; about animals we eat or experiment on; about our dependence on bees and earthworms…or whatever women want to share about the birds and the bees!"
Sue promises comedy, tragedy and drama in a show that will have plenty of time for audience participation and discussion. "Do you care? What could you contribute?" she asks. "If you're interested, please come to the auditions this weekend."
