A NEW theatre enterprise in York will be launched this weekend with auditions for its debut production of the American play Ordinary Days.
Valley Arts Theatre Company has been set up by company director Ben Papworth, artistic director Megan Conway, production manager Luke Hutchinson and musical director Ryan Durkan, all alumni of The York Orchard Theatre Company.
The auditions take place on Sunday at the York St John University music department from 9am. Anyone interested should email enquiries@valleyartstheatre.co.uk.
Adam Gwon’s play will be staged at the John Cooper Studio Theatre, 41 Monkgate, York, from February 14 to 18 next year and consists of a cast of four characters and a piano. Its stories of four people living in New York but struggling to connect has the theme of realising that the pieces of our lives, as jumbled as they may seem, do fit together, even if we have to shift our perspective to see it.
