MANJOT Sumal and Umar Ahmed's How To Make A Killing In Bollywood is a musical comedy about two best friends who decide to quit their jobs in a fast food restaurant and head to Bollywood in search of fame and fortune.

In this play for family audiences, Scottish-based actor Raza Khan is turned down for another acting role. He is faced with the stark reality of a lifetime of working in the family take-away, serving chips and cheese to the local wide-boys.

Before consigning himself to this nightmare he wants one last chance to try and make it big and show the world what he is truly capable of. Where better to hit the dizzying heights of fame and fortune than a place where there are a thousand roles for guys like him?

Northumberland Theatre Company head to Bollywood

At Pocklington Arts Centre on Wednesday, Northumberland Theatre Company's cast of four presents a black comedy that focuses on friendship and ambition and the lengths people will go to realise their dreams, punctuated throughout with a Bollywood soundtrack, infectious injections of Bollywood dance moves and humorous riffs on racial stereotyping.

"Northumberland Theatre Company are one of our favourite theatre companies, whose previous productions we've enjoyed include Whiskey Galore, The Old Curiosity Shop and Tartuffe," says arts centre manager Janet Farmer. "We're delighted to have them coming back."

Tickets for Wednesday's 7.30pm performance are on sale on 01759 301547 or at pocklingtonartscentre.co.uk
