BALLROOM dancing duo Anton Du Beke and Erin Boag will play York Barbican on their 2017 tour, but you will have to wait until almost the end of the itinerary for their new show Swing Time to swing into North Yorkshire on April 1.

Before those April Fools' Day shows at 3pm and 7.30pm, you could see Anton & Erin at Yorkshire performances at Sheffield City Hall on February 3 at 7.30pm and Bradford Alhambra Theatre on February 7 at 7.30pm and February 8, at 2pm and 7.30pm, after the British and Irish tour sets off on January 26.

Swing Time promises a combination of music, song and dance, delivered by the Strictly Come Dancing perennial Du Beke, long-time dance partner Boag, regular vocalist Lance Ellington, six ensemble dancers and the 25-piece London Concert Orchestra conducted by Richard Balcombe.

The 2017 production will feature "new choreography and sparkling costumes set to a musical backdrop of timeless classics", such as I Could Have Danced All Night, I Got Rhythm, Moondance, I’ve Got The World On A String, Guys And Dolls and Le Jazz Hot. The show as ever will feature a question-and-answer session with the enduring double act that promises "some fun interaction with the audience".

“Erin and I absolutely love going out on tour," says Du Beke. "We are in our element. We look forward to welcoming old friends and new and hope they will enjoy the occasion as much as we do.”

Anton & Erin last played York Barbican in March, when presenting Just Gotta Dance. One year earlier to the month, they had performed That's Entertainment.
