HENRY Blofeld and Peter Baxter, alias the Beeb’s cricket commentary box duo of Blowers and Backers, are back with a new show, Rogues On The Road.
Bastions of the beloved Test Match Special with more than 80 years’ service to the BBC at home and abroad between them, Blofeld and Baxter will visit Helmsley Arts Centre on October 10 with tales of the fun, games and outlandish characters from their travels.
They will go well beyond the confines of any cricket ground or studio to bring the likes of Ian Fleming and Noel Coward into their stories.
Blofeld continues to be part of the Test Match Special team, as heard at the England-New Zealand Test match at Lord’s. Baxter was in charge of TMS for 34 years; a schoolmaster trying to keep some very errant students in line. Together they have witnessed plenty of shenanigans down the years and across the globe, so come ready to be shocked and entertained by good men behaving badly.
Tickets for Blofeld and Baxter’s 7.30pm show are on sale on 01439 771700 and at helmsleyarts.co.uk
