YORK Steiner School's Class 8 pupils will present Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream from tomorrow until Saturday at 7pm.

Every year, the school's 13 and 14-year-old children produce a class play, which involves building their own staging; designing and painting their own set; designing and making their own costumes; and performing the play for four nights to a public audience.

Every child in the class is involved in all the stages and performs at least one part in the play itself. Last year's Class 8 produced Bertolt Brecht’s A Caucasion Chalk Circle; this year the challenge is Shakespeare's most popular comedy.

Everyone is warmly invited to attend the shows at York Steiner School, Fulford Cross. The performances are offered free, although donations are welcome.
