THE British tour of Anything Goes is to close four months early, the break-off point of May 30 putting paid to the June 2 to 6 run at the Grand Opera House, York.

Anything Goes is a co-production between Stage Entertainment and Sheffield Theatres, directed by Daniel Evans, whose production opened as the Sheffield Crucible's Christmas show last December with a cast led by Debbie Kurup and Matt Rawle.

The tour began at the New Wimbledon Theatre in January, played Hull New Theatre in March and was scheduled to run until October 10 but will conclude at the Grand Opera House in Belfast on May 30.

Stage Entertainment producer Rebecca Quigley said: “The touring market is an increasingly unpredictable one and, of course, we’re very disappointed that we won’t be able to complete the tour’s full schedule. I am, however, delighted that many, many happy audiences did, and still will, get the chance to enjoy this very special show.”

York, however, misses out, as will Leeds Grand Theatre, whose June 30 to July 4 run has become Nothing Goes too. For refund information, phone 0844 871 3024 (York) or 0844 848 2700 (Leeds).
