THAT’LL Be The Day celebrates the golden hits of the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s with a spoonful of comedy and a pinch of youth culture history at the Grand Opera House, York, on Wednesday at 7.30pm.

Trevor Payne first created his nostalgic show for the cabaret circuit in 1987, expanding into regional theatres in the early 1990s.

He still directs, produces and stars in the production, re-writing the comic material and putting six months of planning and preparation into each tour, culminating in a month of intensive rehearsals before the show takes to the road with its new offering every year.

That’ll Be The Day is supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation on its present tour. “The tireless work they do with children across the United Kingdom is inspirational and we look forward to a long and fruitful association with this amazing charity,” says Trevor.

Make-A-Wish has a single purpose: to grant magical wishes to children and young people aged three to 17 who are fighting life-threatening conditions. Wishes can range from being a princess for the day to meeting a hero or going on a once in a life-time holiday.

Tickets for Wednesday’s concert cost £24 or £20 on 0844 871 3024 or at atgtickets.com/york
