THE Carpenters Story, a tribute show that dates back to its original incarnation in 1989, will play the Grand Opera House, York, tomorrow in a new production.
Producer Phil Aldridge brings the show up to date with his lavish arrangements, vocal harmonies and Claire Furley’s uncanny representation of Karen Carpenter as they re-create the melodies of Connecticut siblings Richard and Karen.
Among the Carpenters songs to be aired tomorrow are (They Long To Be) Close To You; We’ve Only Just Begun, Goodbye To Love, Yesterday Once More, Top Of The World, Please Mr Postman and Solitaire.
Tickets cost £19 to £23 on 0844 871 3024 or at atgtickets.com/york
