DIRECT from four sold-out seasons in London’s Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, the British circus troupe Cirque Berserk is revving up for a nationwide tour, visiting the Grand Opera House, York, with its speeding daredevil motorcyclists for three shows early next year.

This high-energy contemporary circus will "combine cirque-style skills with off-the-scale thrilling stunt action in a danger-filled spectacle that will amaze audiences of all ages" in performances at 7.30pm on February 4 and 5pm and 7.45pm on February 5.

This time last year, Cirque Berserk launched its first tour, an experimental run that led to next year's tour, including Hull New Theatre from January 22 to 24.

The show's talking point is "the world’s most dangerous circus act", the Globe of Death, in which the Lucius Team of three motorcyclists speed at more than 60mph inside a unique steel cage that splits open as they ride.

In all, Cirque Berserk adds up to a troupe of more than 30 jugglers, acrobats, aerialists, dancers, musicians and death-defying stunt men, joined by physical comedian-cum-clown Tweedy.

Tickets are on sale at £19 to £27 on 0844 871 3024 or at atgtickets.com/york
