THE Coquette Burlesque and Cabaret Club return for their final York show of 2014 tomorrow night at their new residency at The Duchess in Stonebow.

“After a run of sell-out performances this year, we’ve decided to move to a bigger venue, The Duchess, leaving a trail of glitter and feathers in our wake in The Basement at City Screen,” say producers Daisy De Lux and Pandora Amour.

Tomorrow’s audience should expect an evening of spine-tingling burlesque, cabaret, music and magic, promises Pandora. “‘As October is the month of all things spooky and magical, we’ve decided to get into the spirit of Halloween a little early,” she says.

The cast will include Lou Safire, an international vaudevillian born somewhere between London and Hell. “His dark, bohemian take on burlesque mixes classic acts with circus skills and freakshow stunts; it’s definitely a spectacle not to be missed,” says Daisy.

Bewitching burlesque beauties Starla Bright and Cece Sinclair will bring glamour to the nocturnal proceedings, while Coquette’s in-house troupe, Cocoa City Cabaret, will deliver a tribute to the Addams Family. York magician Tom Crosbie and vivacious vintage vocalist Em Brulee will complete the line up.

‘We think that using The Duchess will allow us to keep the intimate, cabaret atmosphere that makes our shows special, while also making sure there are plenty of seats,” says Daisy. “We’ve also got vintage traders Rosabilly Retro coming along with some of their retro clothing and accessories.

“Fancy dress or just dressing fancy is actively encouraged too, so why not come along and try something different?”

Tickets are on sale from The Duchess in person, online at the duchessyork.co.uk or on the door from 7pm.
